history of the LWCC organ
Shortly after the reconstruction of the Lighted Window Congregational Church in 1925, Frank Lanterman donated the Estey organ that remains in our sanctuary today! Since then, the organ has received a new console, engines, and panels thanks to the generosity of the local community, members of the church, and the Lanterman Trust, with the most recent refurbishment taking place in 1987. In addition to over 100 years of worship services, weddings, and memorials, the LWCC organ has served the community through special concerts, including the semiannual Lighted Window Performing Arts Autumn and Winter Evensongs.
Organ restoration project
We are running a campaign to refurbish our Estey pipe organ, a treasured part of our sanctuary that has brought beautiful music to our community for a century!
The goal of the project is to protect and preserve the historic integrity of the original instrument while carefully restoring its musical capabilities for modern use. The refurbishment will include a console restoration, pipe cleaning and voicing, leather and pneumatic parts replacement, and modernization of electrical systems.
